Vision We envision an equitable energy system that optimizes productivity through smart demand, sustainable supply, and compensated externalities. We support the energy transition with research on various topics, while emphasizing four core themes: Economic Frameworks, Greenhouse Gas Removal, Institutions and Governance, and Policy Design. The Kleinman Center for Energy Policy was established in July 2014 with a generous $10-million gift to the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design from Scott (Cβ94 and Wβ94) and Wendy Kleinman. In 2019, their second gift of $30 million established our endowment fund. This fund has since benefited from the generosity of many Penn alumni donors.
