SolarXList member JinkoSolar, one of the world's largest module manufacturers, is making its biggest push yet beyond panels: the company plans to expand battery manufacturing capacity from 5 GWh to 13–14 GWh by the end of 2026 — nearly a threefold increase, as reported by GreentechLead.
Storage as the second growth curve
With module prices near historic lows and China's PV market cooling, the industry's giants — JinkoSolar, LONGi, JA Solar and Trina Solar — are all betting on energy storage to carry the next phase of growth. For JinkoSolar, storage pairs naturally with its module business: utility-scale customers increasingly tender solar-plus-storage as a single package.
Winning at home while expanding abroad
JinkoSolar was also among the shortlisted suppliers in Datang Group's 2026–2027 module framework procurement announced in early July (EnergyTrend) — a signal that demand from China's big-five utilities remains firm even in a consolidating market.
